CASEBOOK: WHITECHAPEL
Bachelorarbeit
2013

CASEBOOK: WHITECHAPEL
bachelor thesis
2013

They’re the most famous, unsolved crimes of all times: the crimes of Jack the Ripper. The Victorian East End of London, namely the Whitechapel district, set the place for his actions in fall 1888. There he murdered and mutilated five women. The Ripper’s true identity still remains unknown. Consequently, several theories have emerged by self-proclaimed “Ripperologists” over the years – including stories about falsifications, factoids, lies and distorted facts, which seem to depict the victims more like protagonists of a myth rather than real victims of serious crimes.
CASEBOOK: WHITECHAPEL, on the other hand, presents only Scotland Yard’s police files and the true facts of one of the cruelest series of murder covered by the media.
